Robert N. Pripps; Bob's first experience with tractors came at nine years of age working with his father, a forest ranger, disking a fire lane with an Allis-Chalmers crawler. Bored with the job, his dad gave him the controls. After 36 years as an engineer in the aviation industry, Pripps returned to his first love and began writing about tractors. He has authored some thirty books on tractors and owns two, which makes him a "collector."
