This program was created by author of Teen-Intervene, Ken Winters. Dr. Winters is a professor of psychiatry at the University of Minnesota and the director of the Centre for Adolescent Substance Abuse and Research.
Ken Winters, Ph.D., is the director of the Centre for Adolescent Substance Abuse Research and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota. He received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in Psychology (Clinical) from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His research interests include the assessment and treatment of adolescent drug abuse, and the prevalence and aetiology of problem gambling. Dr. Winters has published several assessment tools and numerous articles in the area of adolescent substance abuse and pathological gambling. He is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Child and Adolescent Substance Abuse, is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Gambling Studies, and is a consultant to many organisations, including the Hennepin County Community Prevention Coalition, the Hazelden Foundation, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Centre for Substance Abuse Treatment, the World Health Organisation, and the Mentor Foundation (an international drug abuse prevention organisation.) His previous experience includes appointments as a psychology research scientist at Stony Brook and a staff psychologist at a community mental health centre.
