Every name, address, telephone, fax and document exchange number of each local authority in England, Wales and Scotland is provided in this directory, which also includes addresses of Planning, Highway and Surveyor's Departments where they differ from the authority's main address.

Setting out the changes and developments that have taken place since the last edition, this directory includes addresses of planning and highway and surveyor's departments where they differ from the local authority's main address. Other features include sections on other relevant administrative bodies as well as explanatory notes and cross-references, and details of building society mergers. In addition, the directory provides the name, address, telephone, fax and document exchange number of each local authority in England, Wales and Scotland. Each entry is verified by the authority concerned to ensure that all changes over the last year are registered. It contains some 23,000 place-names listed alphabetically and a section on other relevant administrative bodies as well as explanatory notes and cross references. Lists of legal aid area offices needed when obtaining redemption figures, deeds and documents are also given. This edition has the addition of the Community Charge office telephone numbers and addresses and London postal districts are now cross referenced to the appropriate London Borough, as are London districts eg WC1 : Camden and Bloomsbury : Camden.
