This pack for teaching Advanced GNVQ art and design is designed to: give teachers a thorough understanding of the new GNVQ model; guide them in teaching the underpinning knowledge; provide student activities to reinforce learning and improve performance; provide ideas for assessment as well as a complete assessment activity for portfolio units; and provide practice material for externally assessed units. The pack includes unit-by-unit support comprising: an introduction to the unit; suggestions for linking to other units and co-teachability; an overview of teaching, learning and assessment strategies; development of key skills. The pack also has a suggested topic-breakdown, with learning activities to cover the underpinning knowledge, and suggestions for assessments as well as a number of skeleton activities, so that tutors can develop work suited to their own locality as well as one complete exemplar assessment.
