Captain Peter Hore served worldwide in the British Royal Navy for nearly 40 years. He is associate editor of Warships International Fleet Review and obituarist for The Daily Telegraph in London. He is the author of eight books, including Habit of Victory (Sidgwick & Jackson). Bernard Ireland spent his working life with the Royal Naval Scientific Service. He worked as a technical illustrator to major shipping companies, and has written 30 books on maritime technological or historical subjects.
