Dr Steven Coughlin is Professor and Interim Head of the Division of Epidemiology at Augusta University in Georgia, USA. Dr Coughlin received his MPH in epidemiology from San Diego State University, USA, and his PhD in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University, USA. His research interests include cancer survivorship, cancer prevention and control, chronic disease epidemiology, women's health, and health disparities. Dr Coughlin has authored several books, including Black Health in the South; Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Chronic Diseases; Handbook of Community-Based Participatory Research; the first and second editions of Case Studies on Public Health Ethics and Ethics in Epidemiology and Public Health Practice: Collected Works; and the first, second, and third editions of Ethics and Epidemiology.
