A young couple, Jon de Golada and Julieta de Avila play key roles during a conflict in the Kingdom of Castilla as the 12th Century ends and the 13th begins. Travelers from the far future have inserted themselves into this epoch planning to change the timeline of history for their own benefit. Jon comes to Toledo to search for these travelers. There he finds Julieta, a young noblewoman with a secret power, and they fall in love. As the conflict develops, they build a small, allied force of diverse individuals that leads King Alfonso's army in the traveller manipulated clash with the Moorish soldiers of the Taifa of Jaen, a small kingdom South of the Beatic Mountains that protect Muslim Andalucia from the Catholic Kings of the North.
