A celebration of the most memorable artwork, storyboards, scripts and more from the wildly popular show My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
My Little Pony: The Art of Equestria allows fans to experience, for the first time, a deeper exploration of the art and illustrations that comprise the enchanted land known as Equestria, as well as their favourite characters from the much loved television show, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The show, which debuted in 2010, created a new wave of wildly obsessed My Little Pony fans, both young and old. From the My Little Pony brand's inception in 1981, it has been a cultural staple–whether as a toy, a game, a television show, or a movie. This newest incarnation focuses on Twilight Sparkle as her mentor Princess Celestia guides her on a journey to learn about friendship, as well as a colourful, loveable cast of other ponies, including Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and many more.
Beginning with the show's premiere and taking readers through its fifth season, the book will feature an amazing collection of the art, writing and design pieces that help bring these wonderful stories of friendship to life. The book will not only take readers behind the scenes of this beloved show, but it will give readers an understanding of how their favourite characters and the landscape of Equestria came to look as they are today by examining the art of the show from incepton to its final form. Stepping outside of the television show, My Little Pony: The Art of Equestria will also examine the infectious fan culture–from fan art and contests to the amazing presence at conventions like ComiCon.
Featuring conceptual art, episode storyboards, and scripts, My Little Pony: The Art of Equestria is the ultimate fan keepsake.
