Gwen Bailey pioneered the use of dog behaviour therapy in training and evaluating unwanted animals for rehoming. She was the first person in the UK to be appointed by a national animal welfare charity as a full-time animal behaviourist, eventually heading a team of skilled dog behaviour experts. In 2002, Gwen set up Puppy School (www.puppyschool.co.uk), a network of professional, well-trained, puppy class tutors across the UK. She lectures at national and international conferences, runs training courses for staff at animal charities around the world, and has written many books, including Puppy School, which has sold over 140,000 copies worldwide. She is a Trustee for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
