Colour is intrinsically linked to how individuals make sense of the world. It has the power to completely transform mood, often subliminally. It's capable of being energetic or restful, passive or aggressive, harmonious or dull, and that's just the beginning.Colour: A journey explores the implications, history and cultural meanings of colour. With chapters on individual colours, their history and their influence, Colour will inspire you to make creative choices in your wardrobe, your home and your life. Lyrically written and thoughtfully illustrated with photography by Victoria Alexander (stylist, fashion editor and passionate traveller), Colour is interspersed with poignant reminders on how to use colour to transform your mood and brighten your life.

When Victoria Alexander was small and everyone else felt tall all she wanted to do was play with colour. Nothing has changed. Once upon a time she was a fashion editor for Vogue and Cosmopolitan. These days she loves writing and picture hunting with her camera. She has been a freelance stylist and art director for stills and television commercials, established the television production company, The Film Business; Sydney's first small boutique hotel, The Russell; and The Bathers Pavilion restaurant and caf. in Balmoral. Victoria has also completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) at the National Art School and is a childrens guide at the Art Gallery of NSW. A home-making consultant and passionate traveller Colour is her third book. She is also the author The Bathers Pavilion Cookbook, published by Ten Speed, and One, published by Murdoch. www.victoriaalexander.com.au
