The essential guide to travelling in Tuscany and buying the top wines, with producer recommendations, advice on getting around the area, and useful tips on visiting wineries. Monty Waldin, an award-winning author, lived in Tuscany for six months while researching this book, which gave him unique insight into writing this invaluable guide to exploring and getting the most out of the wines of this region. In the first section of the book, Waldin explores the multitude of wines and wine styles produced in Tuscany and gives advice on how to get around, find the best hotels, and try the local cuisine. The second section features tours of the wine areas - from historic appellations such as Chianti Classico to emerging, smaller-scale regions such as Bolgheri. Each tour suggests the best routes to follow and the easiest way to travel around them. Throughout the book there are expert tips on winery etiquette and the best wines to look out for - at all price points - and advice on how to get your wines home quickly and safely.

Monty Waldin has worked around the world for a range of wine producers in Bordeaux, Chile, California, and Germany. He is the author of Mitchell Beazley's Classic Wine Library Biodynamic Wines which recently won the Gourmand Award, Wines of South America which won the James Beard Foundation Award. He has also written the Organic Wine Guide (Thorsons) and has been nominated for the Prix du Champagne Lanson and Glenfiddich drinks writing awards for his contributions to publications such as Harpers, Wine International, and Decanter.
