Jan Duke has published numerous articles on Nashville. She is the editor of the award-winning website, nashville.about.com, and a lifetime member of the Cheatham County Historical Society, as well as the First Families of Tennessee, a project of the East Tennessee Historical Society that documents, honors, and identifies the state’s first residents prior to Tennessee’s statehood in 1796. Jan has also written extensively for other publications, including La Campana del Sur (Nashville’s Spanish newspaper), Ireland’s Own magazine, and for the University of Regensburg, Germany. Jan and her husband Phillip have two wonderful sons. They live in Cheatham County outside of Nashville.
