Montana Hodges was born in California and was named Montana by her parents for no particular reason. As a graduate of journalism and geology she is seriously committed to summer rockhounding trips. Today she works as a freelance writer and travels to wherever the rocks may take her. Tina Campbell came to California in 1975 but has been an avid rockhound for most of her life. She belongs to the Roseville Rock Rollers, a gem and mineral society, along with Fossils for Fun, a fossil hunting group both in Northern California near Sacramento. She is a Paleontological monitor for several consulting firms.
