Oregon residents and outdoor enthusiasts W. C. McRae and Judy Jewell give their unique perspectives on coastal Oregon, from the best places to grab a seaside snack to the best hikes along the Coastal Trail. With endless options for inn-hopping and surfing along the state's southern beaches, Moon Coastal Oregon gives travelers the tools they need to create a more personal and memorable experience.

Between the two of them, Bill McRae and Judy Jewell have lived in and traveled around Oregon for more than 50 years. During this time, they've also strayed out of state to research and write Moon Handbooks to Montana, Utah, and southern Utah's national parks (a.k.a. Zion and Bryce). As they turned their attention to Moon Coastal Oregon, Bill admitted that he was up for a trip (or three) to Yachats. And Judy was eager to return to Brookings, where she'd worked for the Forest Service back in the 1980s. "I could go surfing!" she realized. Bill had his own revelation: "I could forage for mussels, and get some really fresh tuna down at the docks." Those temptations, combined with the promise of hikes and blustery storms, make Oregon's coast irresistible. When she's not traveling around the West, Judy works as a technical and scientific editor and a yoga teacher. Bill has written for Frommer's, Lonely Planet, and Mobile Guides, and has provided content for 1000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die. He has also edited books for National Geographic and provided content for websites like GORP.com and Expedia.com.
