Lorrie has compiled a unique photographic record of the people of Sydney; old and young, rich and poor, ordinary and extraordinary, and the occasions vary from public spectacle to moments of great intimacy. Shot in the twelve month period up to the New Year's Eve parties as the Millennium clicked over, Sydneysiders is Sydney at play, at work, showing the locals in their finest or in the rough, but definitely all present and accounted for. From one of only four single-operator fishermen still working the harbour to an 8-year-old wannabe lifesaver, from exuberant pom-pom girls to teenage ballroom dancers, to the 'Marching Shirley Basseys' as they frock up for the annual Mardi Gras parade. These are the faces of Sydney as they've never been seen before.
