This is the first ever guidebook to the Eastern Rhodopes. The Eastern Rhodopes are a region in Southeastern Bulgaria where a huge historical, cultural and natural heritage has been preserved and awaits to be discovered by curious travellers. The guidebook includes all significant tourist attractions in the Eastern Rhodopes and gives ideas and describes routes for active holidays (hiking, biking, kayaking, horseback riding, etc.). There are selected hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs and restaurants listed in the guidebook; alongside information centres and local travel companies. Last but not least there is plenty information on biodiversity - bird watching, rare plant species, nature reserves, etc. The guidebook has three parts: the first one is about the Eastern Rhodopes (nature, history, economy, etc.); the second part presents practical tourist information. The third part is the main one and describes the nine tourist regions in the Eastern Rhodopes. The guidebook also features a road map of Bulgaria and a road map of the Eastern Rhodopes.

Georgi Palahutev is the author of this, first ever, guidebook to the Eastern Rhodopes. He was born in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, 32 years ago and lives there today with his wife and daughter. Georgi graduated from Sofia University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism. Since 2002 he has worked in the field of tourism - planning, organising and leading cultural and adventurous tours throughout Bulgaria. In recent years Georgi has also dedicated his time to writing guidebooks.
