Donald Olson is a novelist, playwright, and travel writer. His travel stories have appeared in The New York Times, Travel & Leisure, Sunset, National Geographic, and many other publications. His other guidebooks include Best Day Trips from London, England For Dummies (winner of the Lowell Thomas Travel Writing Award for best guidebook), Germany For Dummies, and London For Dummies, and (as co-author) Great Britain Day by Day and Germany Day by Day, all published by Wiley. Under the pen name Swan Adamson, Donald has published the novels Memoirs Are Made of This (also translated into Russian), My Three Husbands (published in France as Venus, quand tu nous tiens), and Confessions of a Pregnant Princess (published in France as Venus a Rome). His novel, The Confessions of Aubrey Beardsley, was published in the United Kingdom by Bantam Press, and his play, Beardsley, was produced in London. In 2010 his essay, "Confessions of a Faux Pa," was featured in the new anthology What I Would Tell Her: 28 Fathers on the Joys and Challenges of Raising their Daughters.
