Companion to the 4th edition of the Standard Conditions of Sale
The highly experienced Trevor Aldridge QC (Hon) updates this invaluable guide to the 4th edition of the Standard Conditions of Sale, which have been revised and released for use under the Land Registration Act 2002.
The new Conditions of Sale have been amended in a number of ways. The rules for governing deducing registered land are no longer laid down by statute and the new Conditions provide for this. The Conditions make express provision for a separate price paid for chattels and cover not only the sale of leaseholds but also the grant of new leases. In addition, the new Conditions look ahead to Commonhold Law.
Taking a logical approach, the Companion to the 4th edition of the Standard Conditions of Sale follows the Standard of Conditions of Sale paragraph by paragraph. Each of the Conditions is set in context so that conveyancers can decide whether to use, amend or even exclude them. Further more, the booklet adds relevant background law.
