Berg likes to say that the trial lawyer who will become a master of the art of trying cases, is the lawyer who asks, "How can I get better?" - a question Berg himself has never quit asking. Many of those answers will be found on these pages as Berg, who has tried virtually every kind of civil and criminal case, shares his deeply psychological and practical insights into each trial skill. This second edition is quintessential Berg - colorful, insightful, funny and instructive - and difficult to put down. It will keep you reading - and make you a better trial lawyer.
David Berg is the founding partner of Berg & Androphy, with offices in Houston and New York. Recognized by Best Lawyers In America in eight trial specialties, he has tried virtually every kind of civil and criminal case to a jury verdict. David is also an author, having published more than one hundred essays and articles and two books, including the second edition of The Trial Lawyer: What It Takes To Win (© 2003, 2018 ABA), which includes excerpts from the Pennzoil v. Texaco jury trial, along with explanations of how his friend, Joe Jamail, won a $10.5 million verdict in that case. (The second edition can be purchased online at https://www.americanbar.org/products/inv/book/320406279/.) He is also a frequent lecturer and participant in CLE programs as well as guest lecturer in trial advocacy classes at various law schools. David is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation, as well as an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
