Following upon discussion of the anatomy and embryology of the thymus and its immunologic function, in-depth consideration is given to the use and value of the various radiologic imaging procedures. Modern diagnostic methods are discussed and individual authors present their own examination techniques and research findings. Particular attention is focused on tumours of the thymus and there are also chapters on developmental abnormalities and tumour-like lesions. All age groups, from newborns to adults are considered.
