This book is based on material taught in general and special theoretical physics courses given by I.B. Khriplovich at the Physics Department of Novosibirsk University, Russia. The book contains the analysis of concrete problems in classical mechanics, classical electrodynamics, quantum mechanics, and relativistic quantum mechanics. To the best of Khriplovich's knowledge, many of the problems and solutions included in this book have never been discussed in print before.
I.B. Khriplovich is Chief Researcher, Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Novosibirsk, Russia, and Chair of Theoretical Physics, Novosibirsk University. He is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and has been awarded the Dirac Medal for the advancement of theoretical physics by the University of South Wales, Sydney, Australia, and the Pomeranchuk Prize for outstanding contribution to the understanding of properties of the Standard Model, especially for illuminating work on weak and strong interactions of quarks, by the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, Moscow, Russia.
Classical Mechanics. Unexpected Questions.- Wave Phenomena and Classical Electrodynamics Without Calculations.- Atomic Physics. Minimum Calculations.- Deuteron—The Hydrogen Atom of Nuclear Physics.- Semiclassical Approximation in Complex Plane.- Quantum Electrodynamics. Again Minimum Calculations.
