Birds of New England is a comprehensive field guide to commonly found birds in this region, including local favourites and rare curiosities. This full-colour guide includes precise descriptions of voices, behaviours, and habitats of hundreds of bird species, and details the top birding sites across the Northeastern region, a favourite for adventures in nature. Accurately identify avian friends using the spectacular photographs of plumages and birds in flight, and know where to go to find your favourites using the individual range maps show each bird's seasonal and migratory patterns.

Birds of New England is an authoritative and accessible reference for all passionate birders, beginners and experts alike.

Birds have lured Zach Adams on adventures in varied ecosystems throughout New England, across the United States, and even abroad. He has trudged through alder swamps, trotted through bogs, and canoed oxbows of the Housatonic River. Throughout his career in conservation- working with National Audubon, Mass Audubon, and Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy- Zach's knowledge and enthusiasm have helped hundreds of people connect with birds. He has also spotted county-first bird species two years in a row. It's not unusual to find him hunched over a spotting scope in a tropical rainstorm, but he also enjoys quieter moments fly-fishing in New England's mountain streams. Zach lives in Ashley Falls, Massachusetts, with his wife, Evelyn.
