This book is aimed at graduate students and researchers in photonics, optics, physics, and photonic crystal fibers.

Than Singh Saini obtained Ph.D. in nonlinear fiber optics from Delhi Technological University, Delhi, India in 2016. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, India. Prior to joining NIT Kurukshetra, he worked at national and internationally reputed institutions including CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO), Chandigarh, Optical Functional Materials Laboratory, Toyota Technological Institute, Nagoya, Japan, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, India, University of Southampton, UK. He is working on experimental realization of specialty optical fibers for coherent mid-IR light sources, frequency comb generation, fiber optic parametric amplification, and fiber lasers. Ravindra Kumar Sinha completed M.Sc. Physics from IIT Kharagpur and Ph.D. (Fiber Optics and Optoelectronics) from IIT Delhi. He did his Post-Doctoral Research at Osaka and Kobe University in Japan and at I.I.Sc Bangalore during 1989-1991. He has worked at BITS Pilani, REC/NIT Hamirpur H.P. and at DCE/DTU-Delhi. He has established TIFAC-Center of Relevance and Excellence in Fiber Optics and Optical Communication under Technology Vision 2020 Program, Conceptualized and Executed B.Tech. Engineering Physics, M.Tech.(MOCE) and M.Tech. (NST)) at DTU Delhi.
