Witness the ancient tropical forests and majestic landscapes of northern Queensland, Australia — home to some of the worlds rarest and most fascinating species. Dicksons work is inspired by the incredible diversity of flora and fauna she lives amongst, which are rich and colourful in the diverse, thriving valley she calls home.

Dicksons techniques have varied in medium, from illustration to watercolour and many in between, but nature has always been the key element of her art. View a lifetime of artworks and share in her journey to becoming an artist, showcased in this large-format, beautifully designed book that is an essential addition to coffee tables everywhere.

Daryl Dickson is an award-winning painter and illustrator with a passion for the natural environment and native wildlife rehabilitation. Originally from London, she now lives in Far North Queensland, where she divides her time between her art and working to save the endangered mahogany glider. Her first memories of wildlife are linked to England as her early connections with nature were established in the English woods. Daryl has received an Australia Day Award for her work in environmental education and wildlife rescue, Cassowary Award, and the Drawing prize at the Hinchinbrook Bird Life Art Awards. She is a member of many artistic and conservation societies, including the Wildlife Art Society of Australia and The Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland, of which she is the president of her local branch. She is also chair of Australia’s National Recovery Team for the Mahogany Glider, one of Australia’s most threatened species. Daryl and her husband live in the Kennedy Valley and devote much of their time to caring for injured and orphaned native animals. Their home is shared with an amazing diversity of unique flora and fauna, providing endless inspiration, interest and color.
