Imran Ahmad is a PhD student at MJIIT, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Currently working on the treatment of restaurant wastewater containing FOG using microalgae. Ahmad specialises in the cultivation and valorisation of freshwater microalgal species in varied conditions, especially with wastewaters. He has published his work in peer-reviewed journals, and book chapters, and attended and presented at more than 20 International conferences. Ahmad has recently published a Handbook of Research entitled Algae as a Sustainable Solution for Food, Energy, and the Environment. Ahmad received the best presentation award at 5 International conferences. He received Algae Industry Incubation Consortium (AIIC), Japan grants award and My Membrane award, Malaysia in 2021. He was also the recipient of the Young Scholars grant awarded by the School of Post Graduate Studies, UTM. Ahmad has teaching experience of 8 years in AICTE-approved Engineering Colleges in India. Ahmad has student membership in the International Society for Applied Phycology (ISAP), International Water Association (IWA), Northeast Algal Society (NEAS), Ecological Society of America (ESA), British Phycological Society, and Northeast Algal Society (NEAS).
