This book provides readers with a collection of selected articles contributed by leading experts around the world, covering recent advances in fabrication and investigation of nanoengineered materials, thin films and colloids in application to key emerging industrial sectors. The readers are exposed to a variety of concepts ranging from fundamental to applied, addressing different application sectors including sensing, imaging, energy generation, energy storage and forensics. In addition to key enabling concepts and technologies of interest to broad range of nanomaterials, the contributions emphasize semiconductor nanostructures and devices, reflecting their continuing interest to academia and industry.

lt;p>Sivashankar Krishnamoorthy is a group leader at the Materials Research and Technology department at LIST in Luxembourg. He has over 18 years of experience in development of advanced nanotechnologies in the directions of polymeric and colloidal self-assemblies, micro/nanofabrication, surface engineering and functional integration of nanostructures within optical and electronic devices including light emitting diodes, flash memories, plasmonic sensors, in-vitro cell expansion, and lab on chip devices. Prior to LIST, he served as a member of staff at IMRE, Singapore, Fujirebio Inc. in Japan, and CSEM SA in Switzerland. He has held or currently holds several professional roles including invited talks, organization of international conferences, management committees of EU cost actions and review of international grant applications.

Krzysztof (Kris) Iniewski is managing R&D development activities at Redlen Technologies Inc., a detector company based in British Columbia, Canada. During his 15 years at Redlen he has managed development of highly integrated CZT detector products in medical imaging and security applications. Prior to Redlen Kris hold various management and academic positions at PMC-Sierra, University of Alberta, SFU, UBC and University of Toronto.

Dr. Iniewski has published over 150+ research papers in international journals and conferences. He holds 20+ international patents granted in USA, Canada, France, Germany, and Japan. He wrote and edited several books for Wiley, Cambridge University Press, Mc-Graw Hill, CRC Press and Springer. He is a frequent invited speaker and has consulted for multiple organizations internationally.
