Dr. Subhas Chandra Mandal is a Professor in the Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Science, West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata, India. Previously, he  was Professor in the Department of Veterinary Parasitology, College of Veterinary Science & A.H., Durg, C.G., India. He has 30 years of teaching experience in Veterinary Parasitology and he is the author of several books, including Veterinary Parasitology at a Glance, Veterinary Helminthology, Question Bank of Veterinary Parasitology, Sure Success in Veterinary Parasitology, Encyclopedic Glimpses of Veterinary Parasitic Diseases. Of these books, two books are amongst the best books of all time as selected by Book Authority. He has contributed a chapter in a popular book, ‘Pathology of Infectious Disease of Domestic Animals. He was research editor of an international journal, Animal Science Reporter and presently he is a reviewer of different scientific journals. He has published more than 80 research articles in different reputed journals; many of these are of international repute. He submitted twenty one gene sequences of different parasites in the GenBank and got accession numbers of those. He got several awards for his significant contribution in his relevant field. He has been included in the National Academy of Veterinary Science, New Delhi, for his contribution to the field of Veterinary Parasitology.​
