This manual guides students through well-planned lab activities that help students visualize and master lab concepts. It is designed to stand alone or for use with other materials.
Human Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory Manual, Cat Version, Media Update with PhysioEx 4.0, Seventh Edition guides readers through well-planned lab activities and features new illustrations and full-color photographs that help readers visualize and master lab concepts. Designed to stand alone or for use with other materials, the manual contains anatomical and physiological terminology essential for use in one- or two-semester anatomy and physiology courses. PhyisoEx 4.0 now includes an entirely new laboratory simulation on Acid/Base Balance that focuses on respiratory and metabolic acidosis and alkalosis, as well as renal and respiratory compensation. The lab is accompanied by a written exercise. The Histology tutorial now features 40 new slides plus written worksheets to increase reader comprehension.

For Elaine N. Marieb, forging a relationship between her students and the anatomy and physiology concepts that will form the basis of their careers has always been a priority. Having gone back to school to get her R.N. degree and an M.S. in gerontological nursing when she was already a college teacher, she is uniquely able to understand the needs of both instructors and students. Elaine is Professor Emeritus of biology at Holyoke Community College, Holyoke, Massachusetts, where she taught anatomy and physiology for 25 years. She has also relocated to Naples, Florida, where she is now Visiting Professor at Edison Community College in nearby Fort Myers, Florida. She keeps in touch with many of her former students, whose experiences in allied health careers provide insights into the changing needs of A&P students.
