Immunosensing for Detection of Protein Biomarkers

In recent years, immunosensing and immunoassay methods have attracted considerable interest due to their applications in different fields, particularly clinical diagnosis. Although a large number of academic papers in immunosensing and immunoassay have been published in different journals recently, it is still a difficult and time-consuming task for researchers, especially those new to the area, to understand the principles, methods, and research progress of immunosensing.
Based on the research experience of the authors and their research groups, this book offers readers with new research ideas to develop immunosensing methodology. As a monograph, it offers deeper and more complete coverage than review papers, which only report certain aspects of progress. Grounded in the research experience of Professor Ju’s research group, the book focuses on immunosensing for detection of protein biomarkers, summarizing understanding, research, and practice on immunosensing methodology in detection of protein biomarkers.
He received B.S., M.S. and Ph.D degrees from this university in 1986, 1989 and 1992, and became a full professor in 1999. He is a fellow of the International Society of Electrochemistry and the Royal Society of Chemistry, and won the National Funds for National Distinguished Young Scholars in 2003, and National Basic Research Program of China as a chief scientist in 2009. His research interests include analytical biochemistry and nanobiosensing, focusing on signal amplification and life analytical chemistry. He has guided about 40 students (1/3 of his students) to develop immunosensing methodology for detection of protein biomarkers with electrochemical biosensing, optical detection, imaging analysis, flow injection, biosensor array, molecular biology, signal amplification and nanobiotechnology. Guosong Lai, graduated from Ju’s group with Ph.D degree in 2011, and is an associate professor of Chemistry in Hubei Normal University and named as Chutian Young Scholar in Hubei Province of China. His research interests mainly focused on immunosensing and immunoassay methodology Feng Yan is a senior researcher at Jiangsu Institute of Cancer Prevention and Cure and a professor at Nanjing Medical University. She is also the deputy director of both the department of clinical laboratory and the Province Key Laboratory of Cancer Molecular Biology and Translational Medicine in Jiangsu Cancer Hospital, and the leading talent at Jiangsu medicine. Her research interest focuses on the methodology of molecular diagnosis and practical clinical application. She has published around 100 papers and 4 books with citations of over 2000.
