Apolodor Raduta graduated in Physics in 1965 and in Mathematics in 1972, at Bucharest University. He gained his PhD in 1972. Since 1965 he has been employed at Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering where he holds the most senior research position, i.e Senior Researcher of Rank 1. In 1998 became full professor at Bucharest University where he is now an Emeritus. He has received many prizes and was awarded a Senior Humboldt Fellowship. He is author of about 250 scientific papers and two books; has organized numerous conferences and summer schools, and supervised about 20 PhD students. He has held visiting professorships at numerous institutes around the world.
