An excellent resource for all graduate students and researchers using electrochemical techniques. After introducing the reader to the fundamentals, the book focuses on the latest developments in the techniques and applications in this field. This second edition contains new material on environmentally-friendly solvents, such as room-temperature ionic liquids.

Kosuke Izutsu received his B.Sc. (1956), M.Sc. (1958) and D.Sc. (1961) degrees from Kyoto University and worked under Professor I.M. Kolthoff at the University of Minnesota from 1961 to 1963. He became an Assistant Professor at Kyoto University in 1963 and moved to Shinshu University, Matsumoto in 1972 as an Associate Professor. He was promoted to Professor of Analytical Chemistry, Shinshu University in 1975 and has been an Emeritus Professor there since 1999. His research interest lies in electroanalytical chemistry in nonaqueous solutions and he has published over 100 original papers and many review articles on the subject. He has served as the Chairman of the IUPAC Commission on Electroanalytical Chemistry and as the President of the Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry.
