This book is a technical guide to fundamentals of embedded systems and robotics, and their application to practical problems. The book hosts the concepts of different elements related to the amalgamation of embedded system and robotics before tackling the physics of robotic systems.

This book is the ABC of embedded system and robotics: A for acquiring the concepts, B for building robotic systems, and C for creating solutions.

It is appropriate for undergraduate and post-graduate students of electronics and electrical engineering, robotics engineering, computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering, and allied disciplines. Specifically, it will act as a guide for students doing robotics projects in their final semesters.

Nayan M. Kakoty obtained bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Jorhat Engineering College in 2004, Master of Technology in Bioelectronics in 2006 and Ph. D. in the area of Rehabilitation Robotics in July 2014 from Tezpur University. Dr. Kakoty joined City University of Hong Kong as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in October 2014. Currently, he is working as a professor in the department of ECE, Tezpur University (www.tezu.ernet.in/~nkakoty) and leading the Embedded Systems and Robotics Laboratory (ERL) (www.tezu.ernet.in/erl).

Dr. Kakoty, an IEEE Senior Member, focuses on development of artificial hand for upper limb amputees. He has completed two consultancy projects and five research projects funded by department of Science and Technology - Government of India (GoI), department of Biotechnology - GoI, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology - GoI, Assam Science Technology and Environment Council - Government of Assam in the area of biomedical engineering aiming for an advanced prosthetic hand. The prosthetic hand called ENRICH developed by his team is in use by users. Currently, he is working for an anthropomorphic prosthetic hand and co-adaptation of user with prosthesis.

His work in research and academics have been awarded with Best Paper Award in the ACM International Conference on Advances in Robotics 2013, India; Anniversary Teacher Award 2015-Tezpur University; Professor S. K. Mukherjee Gold Medal in Anveshan 2013, IEEE Best student project awards 2012 and 2013 for the projects under guidance; Best Young Engineers Award in 2017 by the North-East Senior Engineers' Forum; and 2nd position in Region 10 IEEE Product Demo Competition 2021 and Dare to Dream 2022 organized by DRDO, Ministry of Defence, GoI. Dr. Kakoty is one of the founder members of The Robotics Society - India (RSI).

Dr. Rupam Goswami (Senior Member, IEEE, 2021) is an Assistant Professorat the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Tezpur University, India. He received the doctoral degree in microelectronics from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar in 2018. He has completed Master of Technology in Microelectronics and VLSI Design from NIT Silchar in 2014, and Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Assam Engineering College in 2012. Prior to joining Tezpur University, he has served in teaching positions at Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani, Pilani Campus, India, and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneshwar, India.

His research interests include simulation, and modeling of semiconductor devices (TFETs, FinFETs, TFTs, advanced MOS devices), memristors as sensors, and charcoal electronics. He has 35 publications in SCI/ SCIE journals, 18 publications in peer-reviewed conferences, and 3 book chapters. He has served as the editor of two (02) technical books, and has two (02) patents filed to his credit. He has delivered a number of invited talks at various events, is an Editorial Board Member of BMC Research Notes (SpringerNature), and Review Editor of Frontiers in Electronics-Nano- and Microelectronics . He has worked in the role of three (03) government-sponsored research projects as an investigator. He is the recipient of Young Scientist Award for 2021 by DST, Government of Assam. He is the founder of VrixaaLabs: an open learning initiative.

Dr. Ramana Vinjamuri received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Kakatiya University (India) in 2002. He received his MS in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University in 2004 specialized in Bioinstrumentation. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2008 specialized in Dimensionality Reduction in Control and Coordination of Human Hand from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow (2008-201
