ABOUT THE SERIES: The Understanding Nursing Associate Practice series (UNAP) is a new collection of books uniquely designed to support trainee nursing associates throughout their training and into a professional career.
Myles Harris is an Adult Nurse and has an MA in Practice Education. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is a Registered Nurse Teacher. Myles worked as a Senior Lecturer at London South Bank University (LSBU) and was a course director for FDSc Apprentice Nursing Associate. Myles had a leading role in the team at LSBU who provided two out of the eleven test sites for the national development of the Nursing Associate role. The pilot course at LSBU was shortlisted for the Student Nursing Times Award 2019, Nursing Associate Training Programme Provider of the Year. Myles is currently studying for his PhD at University College London, in Risk and Disaster Reduction. Myles is working in collaboration with the not-for-profit organisation Remote Area Risk International and the Royal College of Defence Medicine, Ministry of Defence. Myles’ research focuses on the education of people providing prolonged field care (healthcare) in remote environments.
