Diabetes mellitus is a global epidemic with severe complications that can be of great cost. This book focuses on the complications of hypertension, heart attack or heart failure, stroke, blindness, nephropathy, neuropathy, amputations, and death, along with the prevalence and prevention of disease development. It explains distribution of the disease by age and gender, such as the development of type II diabetes in relation to obesity, which is more prevalent in younger age groups.
