Kim Bergman, PhD, is a licensed psychologist who writes, teaches, and speaks extensively on parenting by choice. She is an owner and senior partner at Growing Generations and created a comprehensive psychological screening, support, and monitoring process for Intended Parents, Surrogates and Donors. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, serving as the Outgoing Chair of the LGBTQ Special Interest Group; an incoming board member of the Mental Health Professional Group; the American Psychological Association; the Los Angeles County Psychological Association; the Lesbian and Gay Psychotherapy Association; and the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association. She is on the national Emeritus board of the Family Equality Council. Dr. Bergman is the author of Your Future Family: The Essential Guide to Assisted Reproduction (Conari Press 2019) and the upcoming children’s book, You Began as a Wish. William Petok, PhD, has been in full-time independent practice for over 30 years and he is a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is a past Chair of the Mental Health Professional Group of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and is a regular reviewer for Fertility and Sterility and other professional journals. Dr. Petok served for 10 years as a board member of Path 2 Parenthood, formerly the American Fertility Association, and as a member of the Executive Council of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology for 9 years. He has chaired and served as faculty on multiple post-graduate courses that focus on sexuality and assisted reproductive technologies at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s annual meetings.
