Mike Newman has had a long career in Periodontology, both as a teacher (UCLA for 35 years now professor emeritus) and a clinician (private office for more than 30 years LA and Beverly Hills California). He is past president of American Academy of Periodontology, past Board Member of AAP Foundation, current Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and founding editor-in-Chief of Journal of Evidence-Based Dental Practice and Annual Report in Dentistry. He currently works as a HealthCare Consultant for professional organizations and private industry specializing in periodontal treatment and practice-based research. Dr. Klokkevold is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He served as Clinical Director (1995-2002) and now serves as Program Director (2002-present) of the UCLA Postgraduate Periodontics Residency program. Prior to specializing in periodontics and implant surgery, Dr. Klokkevold practiced general dentistry and served as Director of the UCLA Hospital Dentistry program (1987-1992). Dr. Klokkevold has more than 20 years of experience in education, administration and clinical practice in periodontics and implantology.
