AS BaHammam is a tenured Professor of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. King Saud University awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award (2016) for his contribution to sleep medicine research. He published 300 scientific articles, 50 chapters, and two books about sleep medicine and technology. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Nature & Science of Sleep (A Q1 journal), The Associate Editor of Ann Thoracic Med, Frontiers in Neurology, and Frontier in Psychiatry. Professor BaHammam's research focuses on several sleep-related topics, including obesity hypoventilation syndrome, central hypersomnolence disorders, and the impact of intermittent fasting and mealtime on sleep and circadian rhythm, sleep monitoring, and recently, sleep and circadian rhythm changes during the COVID-19 pandemic. AS BaHammam is the Executive Director of Academic Affairs at the Medical City, King Saud University; the Director of Prince Naif Health Research Center; and the Director, University Sleep Research Center at King Saud University. As a prolific writer and editor, his name is also on the list of the top 2% of scientists in the world, compiled by Stanford University, Elsevier, and SciTech Strategies.
