Wendy C. Budin, PhD, RN, C, is Assistant Professor of Nursing and Program Director of the Lamaze International Childbirth Educator Certification Program at Seton Hall University. She received one of the first NJ Breast Cancer Visiting Research Scholar Fellowships, awarded by the NJ State Commission on Cancer Research, 1996, to work with Dr. Carol Noll Hoskins, Professor of Nursing, New York University (NYU), on research dealing with adjustment to breast cancer. Dr. Budin's research ""Psychosocial Adjustment to Breast Cancer in Unmarried Women"" was funded by a grant from the American Nurses Foundation, and she was named the 1994 ANF Barbara A. Given Scholar. For this research, she also received the 1997 Sigma Theta Tau International Regional Research Dissertation Award. Other awards include the Distinguished Alumnus Award, Nursing Alumni Council, Seton Hall University, 1998; the NYU Arch Award, 1996 and Division of Nursing, Rudin Award, 1995; Excellence in Research Award, Sigma Theta Tau, Gamma Nu Chapter, 1991; and Faculty Role Model from the graduating class of Seton hall Chollege of Nursing,1996, 1997. Dr. Budin is certified as a perinatal nurse by The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Dr. Budin was appointed to the Joint Nursing/Psychosocial Advisory Group to the NJ State Commission on Cancer Research, the Education/Research Committee and Certification Council of Lamaze International and is a consultant for Regents College, The University of the State of New York, in the content area of Research in Nursing. ||Jacqueline Rose Hott, RN, CS, PhD, FAAN, is Dean and Professor Emerita of Adelphi University School of Nursing and was Co-Director of the Project for Research in Nursing, Adelphi University, 1977 to 1982; Executive Director, Mid-Atlantic Regional Nursing Association (MARNA), 1982 to 1985; and Chair, American Nurses Association (ANA) Council of Nurse Researchers, 1985 to 1987. She was elected to the American Academy of Nursing in 1978 and nominated for the Excellence in Research Award, National Founders Award of Sigma Theta Tau in 1983. Dr. Hott was names a ""Women with Clout"" by The Women's Record in January 1986 and received the First Mentor Award from Sigma Theta Tau, Alpha Omega Chapter, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from the New York University Division of Nursing Alumni in 1987; she was most recently honored by Soroptimist International of Nassau County with the ""Women Helping Women"" Award. She served as a member of the New York State Nurses Association Council on Nursing Research, 1990 to 1994. She serves as a distinguished lecturer for Sigma Theta Tau International. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Adelphi University School of Nursing and for the Center for Nursing Research and Scholarly Practice at Molloy College. Dr. Hott is certified by the ANA as a clinical specialist in adult psychiatric mental health nursing and is certified in sex therapy by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). She holds postdoctoral certification in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy from Adelphi University Derner Institute and has served as president of the Northeast Psychological Associates. She is a sex therapist on the staff of New York University Behavioral Therapy Program.
