Implementing business-to-business scenarios using SAP NetWeaver Process Integration differs greatly from the implementation of other scenarios. This book provides a comprehensive overview of B2B processes and reveals the key elements required for a successful B2B implementation within your organisation using the SAP NetWeaver PI technology platform. In the first part of the book you'll get a comprehensive introduction to the basic concepts of SAP NetWeaver PI and its B2B capabilities, like adapters, cross-industry and industry-specific standards, monitoring capabilities, Business Process Management and ccBPM capabilities. Then, you'll benefit from focused implementation guidance as the authors take you through the key phases of an implementation project including development, configuration, security considerations, testing, and more. Readers of this book will develop a clear understanding of the tools and techniques required for successful B2B integration and you'll learn new ways to optimise connectivity with your (global) trading partners by creating a reliable, secure, and low-effort data exchange.

Sam Raju is a Platinum Expert at the SAP NetWeaver Regional Implementation Group (RIG) at SAP Labs. His primary focus is SAP NetWeaver Process Integration, and he partially works with master data management and global data synchronization. Sam has over 20 years of IT experience including in the areas of SAP R/3, EDI, B2B (business-to-business), data warehousing, and enterprise application integration. As a B2B expert, Sam has successfully led several national and international SAP NetWeaver PI and B2B implementation projects for customers from multiple industries including high tech, chemical, consumer products, petroleum, banking, and pharmaceuticals. He also works with internal development teams that build the SOA content for industry standards such as RosettaNet, CIDX, and PIDX. Prior to joining SAP Labs in 2003, Sam worked for British Petroleum/Amoco in Houston as a senior exploration systems analyst and as an SAP and B2B consultant at National Oilwell, Solvay Chemicals, Hewlett Packard, and several marketplaces in Houston. Dr. Claus Wallacher has worked at SAP for over 15 years in different roles in development and product management. He designed and developed a number of industry-specific solutions, which are available as part of the SAP Business Suite, including for the petroleum industry, utilities, and the construction industry. For the past four years Claus has headed a development team focusing on collaboration topics such as out-of-the-box support of different industry standards, global data synchronization, and the support of B2B scenarios via enterprise services. Prior to joining SAP, Claus studied mathematics and physics at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, where he received his doctorate in the area of mathematical optimization. Claus lives with his family in the Bay Area in California.
