Whende graduated from Walden University, Minneapolis, in 2012 with a Master of Science in nursing with a nursing informatics focus and holds board certification in informatics nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is an award winning author and editor of the textbook ‘Emerging Technologies for Nurses–Implications for Practice’(Springer Publishing:NYC) and is currently a Senior Editor at the Online Journal of Nursing Informatics (OJNI), for which she regularly writes about big data-enable emerging technologies.
