Ben Curry (CISSP, MVP, MCP, MCT) is an author and enterprise architect specializing in knowledge management, BPM, ECM, and collaborative technologies. Ben is a founding Partner at Summit 7 Systems, a company focused on the next generation of Microsoft products, and has been awarded the Most Valuable Professional (MVP) by Microsoft six years in a row. Ben’s philosophy is that the best solutions are inspired by the best ideas, and he encourages his team to continuously generate and share ideas. His numerous publications embody his philosophy. Ben enjoys sharing his ideas as an instructor, both in the IT world and in the marine world. Ben is a Master Scuba Diver Trainer with a passion for diving and spearfishing. Ben’s other life passions include driving his Shelby around the countryside in his hometown of Huntsville, Alabama, and coaching his daughter’s softball team. Ben is happily married to Kimberly and is the proud father of their children, Madison and Bryce. About the Coauthors: Jason Batchelor (MCP) is an information architect and technology strategist who works to bring a balanced approach toward successful system deployments. Jason has been able to leverage core technology strengths in the areas of knowledge management, collaboration technologies, and enterprise content management toward the creation and implementation of successful system designs ranging from large and small enterprises to local and state governments. Jason is a senior consultant and the manager of Professional Services at Summit 7 Systems, a company focused on the next generation of Microsoft products. Jason has more than 11 years of experience in information system design and information architecture. Understanding the balanced need between technology and business, Jason has been instrumental in efforts utilizing SharePoint as a foundation for business process automation and reengineering through the use of tools such as Lean and Six Sigma. Outside of his professional passions, Jason enjoys coaching both high school and travel soccer in his hometown of Madison, Alabama, where he lives with wife, Patricia, and their three children, Zachary, Caila, and Jacob. Jason is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he obtained both his BSBA and MS in management information systems. Jay Simcox (MCSE Security, MCTS, MCITP) is a respected IT professional and educator with more than 12 years of information technology experience. Jay is a manager and senior consultant with Summit 7 Systems, where his background in network and systems administration, SharePoint architecture and administration, and end user support and training are utilized by government agencies seeking to make better use of the tools they are provided. Jay holds an A.A.S. in network engineering and a B.S. in management information systems; he has five years of instructional experience related to information technology. He is a native of Havelock, North Carolina, and currently lives in Huntsville, Alabama, with his beautiful wife, Anna, and their two children, Joey and Allyson. In his spare time Jay enjoys playing golf, reading, and supporting University of North Carolina Tar Heel basketball. Shane King (CISSP, MCTS) is a senior consultant with Summit 7 Systems, specializing in the strategy, design, and implementation of business critical information systems. He has more than 14 years of experience in aerospace and systems engineering, which allows him to bring a holistic approach to solution design and solving business problems. Shane completed his masters of accountancy (MAcc) in December 2008 and is a part-time instructor, teaching accounting information systems and business process management. Shane is a native of Huntsville, Alabama, where he enjoys spending his time off-roading in his Jeep and volunteers as a karate instructor, teaching young adults and youth self-defense. Shane is a loving father to his three children, Noah, Evie, and Blake. Jason Cribbet (MCPD and MCITP) is a senior developer at Summit 7 Systems, with more than 12 years of information technology experience serving commercial, government, and nonprofit organizations. Jason has developed within the Microsoft technology stack since the early days of the .NET framework and has been working with SharePoint-related technologies since 2007. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in computer engineering. A native of South Florida, Jason lives in Huntsville, Alabama, with his wife, Lori, and their three children, Ellie, Alexa, and Jason. Joy Curry is an information technologist who has spent more than 5 years working with Microsoft SharePoint. She comes from a government contracting background where she was responsible for both SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010 farms. Her experience includes all aspects of creating SharePoint-based solutions, from determining initial vision with senior stakeholders, through requirements, design, and finally, implementation. Joy has also spent considerable time doing internal training of critical users as well as working with executive and senior management to realize their goals for SharePoint. When not working with SharePoint, Joy enjoys hiking and offroading with her husband, James, and their two spoiled dogs.
