Dr. Thomas Pohl works as development architect in the area of Agile Development at SAP AG. He studied mathematics and computer science and holds a PhD in mathematics. Before he joined SAP in 1994, he worked in the area of character recognition. Thomas worked in different departments in various roles at SAP (Financials, Financial Services, CRM, Mobile Solutions) where he acquired comprehensive competencies in the design and architecture of business applications with focus on customer needs. His current areas of expertise are model-based development and SOAs. Dr. Markus Peter holds a PhD in physics from the technical university of Karlsruhe, Germany, where he graduated in 1997. He joined SAP AG in 1998 after having spent some time involved in research projects. Initially, he worked as a developer in the areas of CRM Internet Sales, e-procurement, and marketplace solutions, which enabled him to engage in interfaces and the XML-based data exchange between ABAP and non-ABAP applications at an early stage. Then, he participated in the design of SAP Business ByDesign, as a development architect. SOA principles played a major role in this product's model-based development. Since 2006, he's worked on SOA and the modeling and development of the Enterprise Services of SAP Business Suite.
