'The Day Tripper is absolutely astonishing, from first page to last. Warm, clever, hopeful, and superbly written. James Goodhand is a brilliant storyteller at the top of his game. I adored it.' - Stuart Turton, bestselling author of The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

It's 1995, and Alex Dean has it all: a place at Cambridge University next year, the love of an amazing woman and all the time in the world ahead of him. That is until a brutal encounter with a ghost from his past sees him beaten, battered and almost drowning in the Thames.

When he wakes the next day he's in a filthy, unfamiliar room and somehow it's 2010 - fifteen years since the fight. And his face is older, much older. When he wakes up the following morning, it's 2019, another nine years later. But the next day, it's 1999. Never knowing which day is coming next, he must begin to piece together the events of his life after that fateful night. But what exactly is happening to him? And what has happened to Cambridge, and to Holly?

As Alex travels through time, he begins to discover that good decisions can have untold impact. And that might be exactly what he needs to save both the people he loves and himself.

James Goodhand has written two YA novels, published by PRH Children's Books. His debut, Last Lesson ("A powerfully charged study in empathy" -The Financial Times) was published in April 2020 and has been optioned for TV by Red Planet Pictures, with his second, Man Down, in March this year. The Day Tripper is his first work of adult fiction.
