Emily Morrison, author of What Color Is Goodness?, spent her childhood immersed in reading. Raised on the verse of Dr. Suess to Shel Silverstein to Emily Dickinson to Maya Angelou, she felt most at home in the world of poetry. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in English and completing her law and business degrees at Tulane University, she detoured with a sixteen-year career on Wall Street. More recently, Morrison founded Elysian, an artisanal lifestyle brand selling handmade pieces from Istanbul, Turkey, as featured in “Forbes”, “The New York Times Style Magazine”, “Town & Country”, “Veranda” and “Harper’s Bazaar.” Her imagination cultivated, she began writing poetry for her children, believing that lyrical poetry has the power to inspire emotions that can create change. As the poetry continues to pour out of her, she looks forward to the publication of many future books. A native South Carolinian, Morrison lived in New Orleans for over twenty years and recently moved to Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, with her husband, Stirling; ten-year-old triplets, Stirling, Logan, and Rhett; and their dog, Biscuit. Aileen Bennett is an illustrator, artist, and creative director. She is originally from London, England, and has lived in Louisiana for nearly twenty years. Happily married to a Cajun, when she isn’t traveling, she works from a white studio with the assistance of a white dog called Mr. Blue. She has an insatiable curiosity, bulletproof enthusiasm, and a slight obsession with surfing.
