Joan Tapper was the founding editor of National Geographic Traveler and was editor of Islands Magazine for thirteen years. She lives in California. Nik Wheeler is the co-founder of the award-winning Insiders Guide series of illustrated travel guides. His work has appeared in Islands, National Geographic Magazine, Sunday Times Magazine, Gourmet and many other publications.
