In this book, photographer Gabriel Fuchs takes the reader on a journey around one of the most beautiful regions of the UK – Cornwall.
Cornwall in Photographs captures a range of stunning landscapes that make up this most south-westerly part of England. The coastline is full of contrasts, from granite cliffs to sandy beaches, and crashing Atlantic Ocean waves to gently lapping water in tranquil river estuaries. With Land’s End at the tip of its long peninsula, no inland area is more than 20 miles from the sea. Humans have left their mark on the landscape too with wave-battered harbours, the atmospheric Tintagel (believed to be where the story of King Arthur began), quaint fishermen’s cottages, and soaring church spires. Photographer Gabriel Fuchs takes you on a photographic journey through the ancient Celtic county of Kernow, revealing many of her wonderful and varied delights.
Gabriel Fuchs has been taking photographs since his parents gave him his first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, in the 1970s. After mastering darkroom work in the ’80s, Gabriel stepped into the digital world in the 2000s. Now his passion for photography means there is always time to take photos, talk about photography, or think about what equipment to buy next. Gabriel concentrates on landscape and travel photography and has also written extensively on the subject, looking into the peculiarities of photographers and their world. When not taking photos, Gabriel spends time with his family, hikes the Swiss mountains, and daydreams.

Gabriel Fuchs is a recognised photographer as well as author of numerous articles and columns in journals all over the world, including Amateur Photographer in the UK. He focuses on nature and reportage photography, and recently had a successful photo book published that imaginatively presents Lake Geneva in Switzerland. A Swedish and Swiss citizen, Gabriel Fuchs spends time regularly in Cornwall, enjoying its varying scenery, often followed by a locally brewed beer. Or two.
