This model supports readers in tracing one theme throughout history, as well as providing them with a thorough overview of each individual period.
The page extent is approximately 1,728pp with c. 240 illustrations. Each volume opens with a series preface and an introduction, and concludes with notes, bibliography, list of contributors and an index.

Benjamin N. Lawrance is Professor of History at the University of Arizona, USA. He is the author of Amistad's Orphans: An Atlantic Story of Children, Slavery, and Smuggling (2014). He is also the co-editor of several books, including Adjudicating Refugee and Asylum Status: The Role of Witness, Expertise, and Testimony (2015; with Galya Ruffer) and Trafficking in Slavery’s Wake: Law and the Experience of Women and Children in Africa (2012; with Richard L. Roberts).
