Barış Ateş is an assistant professor at the Atatürk Institute of Strategic Studies (ATASAREN). He earned his PhD from Gazi University. His research focuses on military innovation, professional military education, and the sociology of the military profession. His research papers have appeared in international journals such as Armed Forces and Society, İstanbul Journal of Sociology and Turkish Journal of War Studies.
