I believed that the only doctrine I could follow was found within the pages of the Bible, but I was unable to find any purely Biblical references for many of the Catholic tenets.#3 Catholicism encompasses both Scripture and Tradition, and they are not seen as two separate forces but as two aspects of the same revelation of God. Tradition expands on the knowledge that we have from the Bible, and they work together to form a greater understanding.#4 The combination of the Scriptures and Tradition gives us a better look at the whole message of God. Without Tradition, we would be missing out on the teachings that God has given to the leaders of the Church.
