'Why We Fought: A Revolutionary Book about the American Revolution' offers a fascinating and unique analysis of the American Revolution. Arguably the most radical book on the subject, these pages take you on an enlightening exploration of the revolution's spirit. Sharing the hidden side of the revolution, this book certainly delivers.
This little book explodes onto the long historiography of the American Revolution, and shatters all previous American Revolutionary, shibboleths. It destroys totally the accepted New Englander interpretation of the Revolution as false. It regards the real revolution as a stolen legacy. A deliberate false-hood practiced upon the unsuspecting American public for nigh on 250 years. Mr. Ruttledge shows it up for what it really is a charlatan parading as truth, yet it is no more truthful than an urban myth. Mr. Ruttledge gathers a plethora of evidence to back up his claim and yet what is most startling is not the revelations it shows up ;but more importantly why no one else has seen the obvious. The evidence is for all to see in plain sight and has been for the past 250 years. why has no one else considered to look. or have they been looking the other way? The Irish, The Catholics, the African Americans have all been deliberately written out, up until now! well no more they have arisen and what a story they tell.

DEDICATIONS

This work is dedicated to a little English fella, who on seeing my son and me, playing football on Princess Park, Irlam, Manchester, came running over with great excitement.

“Can I play with you” he asked. “Sure” I said. So, for three evening i took my son to the park and sure enough this nice little English Fella, would come running up with great excitement to join in. This little fella was called Drew. Full of life, friendly open and honest. A credit to his family and nation. The last night in the park I said to my son “I’ll have to give Drew something for playing with you. I had four English coins in my pocket. That final night, no Drew.

By far, most English people are friendly, open, welcoming, a good laugh and morally decent. When reading colonial history and especially Irish history one needs to keep that to the forefront of one’s mind always. British people today have absolutely nothing to do with past wrongs, centuries ago.

A generation born today have no hold of what generations did before one was born. You cannot and must not deliver the sins of the fathers onto their sons. That would be grossly immoral and a travesty of justice. English people today, had no say in American taxes, stamp duties, or conduct of the war, over two hundred years ago before they were ever born! Indeed, they have as much responsibility for what happened two hundred years ago as Pinkie and Perky, Mr. M Mouse. Mr. D. Duck, or Scooby-Doo and Shaggy. This needs to be kept in the forefront of your mind, especially with regards to Irish History. Which one old English gentleman historian of English history, a man who wrote the Everyman History of England; when he turned his attention to Irish History this well-respected, and much read English Historian had to give up! It was too dreadful, he just could not go on with the catalogue of English, abuse, misuse, torture hangings, mass starvation programmes and enormous ethnic cleansing programs. It was all just too appalling to research never mind publish. This poor old man was sickened to the core. Also, this book is not only dedicated to that little English chap, this little book is dedicated to all the children of the world who are starting on their collective journeys of life. Life can be very tough for some of our little human people. Death and destruction haunt the middle East like an ugly cancer Spreading its tentacles of sectarianism, hatred, and intolerance. In many cases carefully fostered and promoted for geopolitical reasons to destabilise and destroy their countries from within. The work of Mr. fork tongue himself. The mad man in the furnaces, with every intention of stoking the flames of intolerance, within people’s hearts and heads. This book is dedicated to all the poor kids in Palestine in the Gaza strip whose daily life is a struggle. Whose only schools are run by the United Nations. They deserve better.

The American dream was one small step for mankind, but potentially a giant leap for humanity. We all deserve to have, a little, liberty, freedom, and justice. For in the final analysis, we all breathe the same air, we all inhabit this same earth. …“This generation of Americans has already had enough, more than enough of war and hate and oppression…We shall also do our part to build a world of peace were the weak are safe” *… 2000 thousand years ago a man called Jesus walked the hills, streets, pastures of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Judea and Galilee preaching peace. He sure is needed now.

The middle eastern peoples are sick to death of violence. Sick to the core. All peoples of all places. Mothers, Fathers, Sisters and Brothers, aunts and uncles of all creeds all races are sick of this violent sickness, and wars dementedness and human contrived insanity.

America and its people have much good to offer the world. Far more than detention without trial for a lifetime, or much more than arresting journalists for telling the truth! This last observance, telling the truth, used to be an American virtue and not how it is today, a vice or crime to be punished. For in the final analysis, Americas hard won freedoms of speech are the envy of the rest of the world; as are its freedom of information acts, which hold the powerful to public inspection. These hard-fought rights will go, if not protected from the rich and powerful; and in doing, if they are lost, a little piece of the American dream dies, and is lost within it. The American dream, could die of a thousand and one tiny cuts to its freedoms, each cut just slicing a little more off its healthy body, social and politic. Till eventually only a grotesque caricature of plastic surgery is all that is left to view and behold. A highly ugly and contorted lady of liberty, to grotesque to even look upon or stare at! America’s soul too will be damaged, if these freedoms are mitigated against; if not indeed lost or surrendered, forever.

America is coming out of its two decades in the valley of darkness, and re-emerging into the broad sunlit uplands, flowing green pastures, and sparkling fresh springs and streams, of its green and pleasant land.

Has it gone astray, like a lost sheep? Has It betrayed its very founders and its glorious Declaration for humanity? America and its peoples have much more to offer the world, as regards individual freedoms and liberties for all. America needs to stand up for its own good principles, which have served it well in the past, and will serve it well, into the future.

America and Americans must not throw out the baby with the bath water when it comes to cherished freedoms the envy of all mankind.

Power must be checked and come with its in built freedoms, civil liberties, rights and responsibilities for those, and from those who wield and exercise power. President Eisenhower, the slayer of the demonic dragon called Nazism, with its in- built hierarchy of humanity, personally, warned the American people before he left the highest office, to be on their ever-watchful guard, “against the acquisition of unwarranted influence ...by the military industrial complex {today we would call it the military industrial mass surveillance complex} he went on to warn Americans before he left office... “The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists” {then} and will continue to exist and persist. ** That’s quite some warning from a departing American president to his peoples and public. A human man who had led American young men on a crusade to slay demonic overarching power Today Americans should take heed of President Eisenhower’s final warning; especially congressmen, congresswomen, senators, vice- Presidents, serving and past speakers and serving and past Presidents.

What is happening today is a direct threat to fundamental freedoms of the press. Americas papers, and T. V. channels, need to be on their guard against the unwarranted acquisition of power by the unelected, including themselves!

The Freedoms Washington fought so valiantly for and the freedoms enshrined in the founding documents of America, the freedoms many Americans have died for. Do not let them, to have died in vain, those now gone, resting in their individual graves, in blessed repose, under perpetual light, shining upon their souls.

If you travelled to Normandy, France, just above the golden sandy beaches, are to be found the graves of young American boys and men all neatly lined up, in their well cared for beds of eternal rest. This was as far as they got, all the way from America to die along the shore and sand on the edge of the French coastline. Just a few feet in! Some never even got to set their booted feet onto French soil. They died in the water wading and swimming for land. The water turned red with their young blood.

That some sacrifice to make; and make it they did in their thousands. You can run your fingers along their etched names on their white bleached tombstones. These were real genuine living breathing people, with real emotions. They were as alive as you are now, with their thousand and one worries and thoughts. Within minutes they would be dead. Many taking their last breath upon this Earth, this very same Earth you are now upon. They sacrificed it all for you and me, that we may live in a world without hidden camps, and other such hidden evils. American families paid a high price for liberty, and common decency.

The flame of Americas rights and individual freedoms, has been successfully passed down from one generation to the next generation, for years, decades, nay centuries. An ever-watchful American population, must guard against infringements, breaches of contractual faith, or transgressions, whenever American freedoms are trampled upon or disrespected. These collective freedoms are your freedoms, they are hard won, with blood. A constant ever watchful vigil by American Citizenry is needed to protect these rightfully cherished civic and individual rights and freedoms. President Eisenhower was so right to warn the American public as his last duty of the highest office in the land, to warn about the threats unelected powerful elites can have, or acquire, in American civic functioning and political representation. These much-loved rights are the envy of the rest of the world, they have served you and your community well in the past since the Revolution, and they will serve you and your family and the community well into the coming future.
